Things to do BEFORE your pet is lost

Avoid kicking yourself if your pet is lost in future...

Here’s some proactive steps you can take now to help your pet come home sooner if they do go missing.

  • Take good identifying photos of your pet from several angles. Write a detailed description of any distinguishing features. Keep updating the pictures as your pet ages.
  • Microchip your cat or dog and keep your registration details up to date.
  • Make sure your dog or cat wears a collar at all times. For cats choose a breakaway collar for safety. Cats and dogs should wear their ID tag with contact phone number. Dogs should to wear their registration tag as well.
  • Desex your pet. He or she will be less likely to become lost and will be more likely to be returned if stolen.

As the old saying goes, “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure”.
